Dried Fruit Mostarda is an Italian condiment made of dried or fresh fruits and mustard oil. I have used dried fruits and mustard oil to prepared this dish. Dried fruit mostarda can be had as a candy or can be had with bread toast. Also, it can be served as a topping on various Indian desserts like kheer or phirni.

  • 500 gms all mix dried fruits
  • 250 gms sugar
  • 250 ml water
  • 1/4 cup Saloni mustard oil


Step 1. In a deep saucepan, mix sugar and water. Boil till it gets reduced to 3/4th volume.

Step 2. Add mustard oil.

Step 3. Stir well.

Step 4. Add the dried fruits and stir to combine.

Step 5. Let it simmer for an hour or so till the entire liquid is absorbed.

Step 6. Stir occasionally.

Step 7. Switch off the flame and let cool.

Step 8. Transfer this to a sterilized jar.
